His brother, Marcelo, refuses to let Fernando’s art fade away with him. Hand-weaving his brother’s iconic photographs, Marcelo honors Fernando’s spirit—feeling his energy flow through every thread as he works, just as Fernando once did.

Based in Encinitas, California, but traveling the world in pursuit of his mission, Marcelo continues the work as a silent collaboration between brothers—one in Heaven, one on Earth. Fernando captured the images, and Marcelo weaves them into new life. For over a decade, Marcelo hesitated to take up the thread. He struggled with the thought that weaving was "Fernando’s thing"—a gift that didn’t belong to him. But as the years passed, and the world’s love for Fernando’s art grew, Marcelo’s view shifted. Now, the art is not just a legacy—it’s a living conversation, woven together across time and space.
